An Enhanced Tabu Search Cell Formation Algorithm for a Cellular Manufacturing System

The major benefit of using Cellular manufacturing systems (CMS) is the improvement in efficiency and reduction production time. In a CMS part families machine parts are identified to minimise inter intracellular movement maximise utilisation machines within each cell. Many scholars have proposed methods for evaluation cell layouts with single routes; this paper introduces modified Hybrid Tabu Search Algorithm (HTSA) referred as study having multiple routes well. primary objective hybrid algorithm. presents comparative analysis existing algorithms, proving that algorithm simple, easy understand, has remarkable runtime 5.6 seconds.
